TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Regional Secretary Saefullah acknowledged there was a typo in the Formula E reply letter from the Jakarta government addressed to the Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
“There was a typo. ‘TACB’ (Cultural Heritage Expert Team) was written yesterday," Saefullah said at the City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Friday, February 14, 2020.
Saefullah claimed that the recommendation letter should have instead come from the Restoration Trial Team (TSP). The recommendation was in relation to the Formula E race in the National Monument (Monas) area.
According to Saefullah, the error occured because the technical team was sloppyl when typing the recommendation letter. "A mistake could be done anywhere. Anyone can be wrong," Saefullah said.
Saefullah said the Jakarta government would write to the Ministry of State Secretariat to provide an explanation for the typo in the recommendation letter. "Yes, we will follow-up on the corrected (letter) later," he said.
In a letter from the Jakarta governor to the Ministry of State Secretariat number 61 / -1 / 857.23, Anies Baswedan stated that he had received a recommendation from the TACB.
It turned out that the Jakarta TACB had never issued a recommendation or suggested Anies Baswedan hold Formula E at Monas. The reason is because the area is a cultural preservation. "No recommendations have ever been made," said Jakarta TACB member Danang Priatmodjo when contacted.
