TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of the National Police Force (Polri), General Idham Azis lamented that there are still members of the police force that would opt to face their superiors to ask for positions, as opposed to receiving promotions based on achievements.
"The National Police as an organization must pay attention to those who are truly achievers. That parameter must be at the top, not the dishonest ones, not the ones who face their superiors only to ask for positions," Idham said after giving out awards to achieving members of the police force, in the Rupatama Room in the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, on Thursday, February 6, 2020.
Idham went on to state that out of the 470 thousand police personnel, 0.01 percent had been heard facing their superiors to ask for a position. "The question is, what about those who do not sort to ask their superiors?" he said.
Idham asked that members who excelled need to be prioritized in getting a promotion. In addition, he hopes that this award can be a trigger for enthusiasm in other personnel.
"I think it is part of the pride of the organization, pride for our friends who have received grace and trust, and pride for their family," Idham said.
Idham Azis gave awards to 21 members of the police force who were considered to have performed admirably, within the positions of middle to non-commissioned officers. "This morning's activity is to provide evidence that the process never betrays the results," Idham stated.
