TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former vice presidential candidate, Sandiaga Uno, is optimistic that Indonesia's economy can grow better this year.
"We will be able (to realize it), the economy will grow even better in 2020," Sandiaga said in an official statement in Jakarta, on Thursday, January 30, 2020.
He considered that the market power’s ability to fulfill the domestic market needs, as well as innovation and collaboration, will boost people's economy.
“We have the task right before our eyes; to revive the people’s economy. Especially in several sectors that have potential. Wherein, the people's economy is built because we have the abilities of the market and the entrepreneurs to create products and services that can fill the market's needs," he said.
According to Sandi, innovation and collaboration can be encouraged to become pillars of development. "I am sure, with that focus we are able to strengthen the economy and create jobs," he said.
Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo believes that now is a good opportunity to invest in Indonesia.
“This is based on Indonesia's improving condition, Indonesia's resilience being stronger, the national economic stability being maintained, and the momentum of growth continuing despite global economic uncertainty," he said at the Visionary Talk event, part of a series of events for Annual Investment Forum 2020 in Bali, on Thursday.
The central bank governor stated that Indonesia was able to become one of the best performers in Asia in maintaining economic stability during 2019, as quoted from the BI Communication Department on Thursday.
