BMKG Warns Potential Thunderstorms in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issues an early warning of rain in two areas in Jakarta today, January 15, 2020.
"Be aware of possible thunderstorm and strong winds in South Jakarta and East Jakarta in the afternoon until the evening," wrote the meteorology agency on its official page on Wednesday morning.
The rain will fall this afternoon in four regions of the capital except for North Jakarta. West Jakarta will experience light rain, while Central Jakarta will experience local rain.
South Jakarta is predicted to experience a thunderstorm and East Jakarta will have moderate rain.
North Jakarta will be mostly cloudy this afternoon, while the Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu) will be sunny and cloudy.
During the night, West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands will likely experience local rain. South Jakarta and East Jakarta are predicted to be cloudy.
At dawn, BMKG reported the weather forecast for the Jakarta region will vary between cloudy, as well as cloudy and sunny, while the Thousand Islands will experience light rain.
