Collapsed Building in Slipi Missing Building Permit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 5-story collapsed building located on Jalan Brigjen Katamso, Slipi, West Jakarta was apparently discovered to not have a building construction permit (IMB).
This finding was verified by Chief of Jakarta Capital Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), Benny Chandra. "There is no record of the permit (for the building) in DPMPTSP's database," said Benny, in Jakarta, Monday, January 6, 2020.
Benny further stated that the building in question equally violated the permit to hold commercial activities.
The building, located near the Tanah Abang exit of the Slipi Flyover, was already identified as a dilapidated building.
However, Benny was unacquainted to the exact date of the building’s construction.
"[The permit] is not found in PTSP. It's an old building," Benny said.
Prior to the collapse of this 5-story building located on Jalan Brigjen Katamso Kota Bambu Selatan, Palmerah, West Jakarta on Monday, January 6, 2020, the structure was utilized for the popular mini market brand, Alfamart.
The collapse occurred around 09:15 AM local time. The condition of the building is now dire, as the top floor down to the second floor has caved in.
On the other hand, the ground floor of the building that had previously been used as the minimarket area, did not cave in entirely. A number of vehicles were damaged by the falling debris.
As much as 11 people were injured from the collapse of the building and was fortunately evacuated to two hospitals, namely Tarakan Hospital as well as Jakarta Pelni Hospital.
From the data collected, the three individuals rushed to Tarakan Hospital’s Emergency Unit was firstly, Febriani (27), a resident of Tanjung Duren Raya Number 2 RT 10/2 Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta.
Secondly, Muhammad Iqbal (37), a resident of Jalan Mangga IV, RT 001/02, Cipulir, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.
As well as Ervan Juliansyah (52), a resident of Kampung Gaga, Jalan Amil Abas Number 92 RT 01 RW 01, Larangan Selatan, Tangerang.
The collapse of the building located on Jalan Brigjen Katamso Kota Bambu Selatan, Palmerah, Slipi has been caused by the weathering of the building consequently caused by drainage pipe on the top floor, as according to the information provided by a member of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).
