TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported stormy, heavy rain and strong wind will potentially hit Jakarta today, January 6. Light and medium intensity of rain will shower all the capital areas in the morning to evening.
The agency's official site announced this morning, light rain will fall in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and North Jakarta this afternoon, while South Jakarta and East Jakarta will experience rain with thunderstorms.
An early warning of stormy weather and strong wind issued for North Jakarta, West Jakarta, and Central Jakarta this morning. Besides, potential storms and rain are predicted to hit Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the medium intensity of rain will shower all Jakarta areas at night.
The agency also forecasted potential heavy rain with thunderstorm and strong winds in the capital’s supporting regions such as South Tangerang and southern Lebak Regency, including high waves on the south coast of Banten and the southern Indian Ocean.
Bogor City will also likely face rainfall and strong winds in the afternoon until night. As for Bekasi and Depok will be cloudy and have light rain, while Tangerang is predicted to have local rain in the afternoon and midnight, BMKG announced.
