TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Wishnutama is determined to develop Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara into a super premium tourist site. The minister revealed his plan through his Instagram account, Friday, November 29.
“Let’s work together to create Labuan Bajo as Indonesia’s super-premium tourist destination,” he said.
According to the television and online media expert, the national park has huge tourism potential.
He recalled that he had visited several islands including Padar Island and Pink Beach and was amazed by the scenery of islands, hills, and blue ocean. He also visited Komodo dragon habitats in Rinca Island.
During his visit accompanied by deputy minister Angela Tanoesoedibjo, Wishnutama talked with locals selling their hand-made souvenirs, which is also the potential of a creative economy that must be developed further.
A day earlier, President Jokowi during his speech in an event of Kompas 100 CEO Forum at Ritz Carlton Hotel, Kuningan, highlighted the development of Labuan Bajo as a priority tourist destination. He said that the tourist site management would ensure the tourist attraction would not be mixed for middle to lower-income tourists.
