TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Marine and Fishery Minister Susi Pudjiastuti met Taro Kono, Japan's Minister of Defense, on Thursday, November 7. Susi visited Kono during her holiday trip to Japan.

Kono uploaded photos of her meeting with Susi to his Twitter account, referring to her as a friend.

He also said that Susi's character was cameoed in Golgo 13, a manga series, in which she was shown blowing up illegal foreign fishing vessels.

Susi had met Kono on several occasions when she was still serving as a minister. At the time, Kono was Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs.

At the end of his tweet, Kono said he is committed to combating illegal operations. "We continue to launch NGOs and face illegal operations," he wrote.

Japanese Twitter users responded well to Kono's post and praised Susi for her achievements. One user, @tel_201901, wishes Japan has a minister like Susi.
