Meeting Teachers, Nadiem Makarim: I Become More Positive

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Education and Culture Minister Nadiem Makarim, met with teachers. "Although this is only my third day in my occupation, but everytime I interact with teachers, my spirit lifts up," Nadiem said on the sideline of the Temu Pendidik Nusantara event in Jakarta on Saturday, October 26, 2019.
"It was amazing, I was motivated especially by the teachers who I met today and hopefully we will met with many other types of teahcers," Nadiem said.
As the new Education and Cultural Minister, Nadiem haces a number of challenges to improve the quality of teachers and to improve their welfare.
In addition to teachers' competitiveness and welfare, the government is still facing issues related to teacher's distribution and protection.
"Although the challenges are heavy, but it is weird that when I met a teacher, I grow more positive. So, Alhamdulillah that many of the teachers are wanting to get better, wanting to lear like their students and that is the keyword," Nadiem said..
