TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Kapitra Ampera, the politician of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), said that Prabowo Subianto would not possibly be a Defense Minister as it was rumored.

“It is impossible. [He is in] a presidential level that is impossible to drop,” said Kapitra during a public discussion in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 8.

He opined the Gerindra chief patron would likely be President Jokowi’s advisor. He also believed Prabowo would not agree to take a ministerial seat. “It is impossible. I am sure about it,” he added.

According to Kapitra, the most vital thing for the President’s rival in the previous election is to establish good, two-way communication with Jokowi, especially in delivering vision, mission, and public wishes.

“I think that will make him feel alive again,” said Kapitra.

Previously, issues about Prabowo Subianto who would join the Second Working Cabinet as Defense Minister was circulated. Gerindra deputy chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad rebutted the report. Dasco asserted on Monday, Oct. 7, that his party was not eyeing certain positions.

However, Gerindra has indeed proposed several concepts to the government related to the self-sufficiency of food, energy, security, and economy when the party was offered to help the government.
