TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After the wave of massive demonstrations in Jakarta for the last few days, toll gates belong to state-owned toll operator Jasa Marga in several locations were damaged. The corporate spokesperson Irra Soenardi said the losses reached billions of rupiah.
“We are still calculating the exact amount [of the losses], but it is estimated to reach billions (rupiah),” said Irra on Tuesday, October 1.
After the rally on September 24-25, the firm’s regional division head Reza Febriano said that his side immediately diverted the traffic and repaired the damaged toll gates.
Reza claimed toll gates near the DPR-MPR building were the most damaged.
At Senayan toll gate, the damages were found at two units of oblique approach booth, two units of automatic toll gate (GTO), one unit of GTO for category 1, and one control room and the equipment.
While, damages in the toll gate in Pejompongan include one screen of toll collection terminal (TCT), one KSPT terminal and equipment, rooftops of the toll gate, and two units long booths and equipment.
However, Irra asserted that all Jasa Marga toll gates have returned to operate normally. “After yesterday’s rally (September 30), there is only minor damage on the plastic barrier. All toll gates (near the rally location) have functioned as normal,” said Irra.
