TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta administration has reportedly allocated Rp166.91 billion into its 2020 budget priorities (KUA-PPAS) for Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) members’ salaries, numerous allowances, and operational costs.
However, Jakarta Council Secretary Muhammad Yuliadi assures that the initial income for these legislators will not change. In its current calculation, a legislator’s monthly earnings could reach up to Rp111 million.
“There will be no changes for the meantime,” said Yuliadi to Tempo on Wednesday, September 11.
Legislators’ income is overseen by Government Regulation No. 18/2017 on the financial and administrative rights of regional council members and leaders.
The law states that the income consists of representation allowance (Rp2.25 million), family member allowances (Rp315,000), positional allowance (Rp3.26 million), and fittings allowances (Rp130,500).
All of the aforementioned will be added with intensive communication allowance (Rp17.8 million) and allowances for recesses (Rp17.8 million) which amounts to Rp111 million.
