5.7M Earthquake Rocks North Sulawesi

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 shook Melonguane of Talaud Islands Regency, North Sulawesi. The earthquake occurred at 6:32:25 western Indonesian time on Wednesday, September 11.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that the earthquake had no potentials for tsunamis.
"The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers. There is no potential for a tsunami," BMKG operational staff for the Winangun-Manado Geophysical Station, Zulkifly, said in Manado, Wednesday.
The epicenter on land was about 14 kilometers southeast of Melonguane. The shocks' strength measured at scale III-IV in Melonguane, and II-III in Tahuna.
So far, there have been no reports of damages caused by the earthquake.
