TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The second son of Indonesia’s third president BJ Habibie, Thareq Kemal Habibie, announced that his father is currently in a stable condition after being admitted to the Army Hospital or RSPAD Gatot Soebroto.
“Father’s condition is already stable,” said Thareq Kemal Habibie to a group of journalists at the hospital at the early morning of Wednesday, September 11.
Thareq, who was accompanied by family members, talked at length about his father’s health and hints that his father may be able to leave the hospital in the next couple of days.
This is positive information as previously Thareq publically asked the public to pray for his father’s health to improve. “I ask for your prayers. Don’t worry because my father is already old. Whatever may happen would be the best for him. Thank you,” he said at the time.
However, Thareq Habibie is yet able to reveal the details of his father’s medical record but acknowledges that BJ Habibie is already able to conduct his prayers while resting on the hospital bed. He has promised to hold a press conference together with his elder brother, Ilham Akbar Habibie, to go into further details.
