TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Angkasa Pura II (AP2) is currently building to connect the Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK), Tangerang and Jakarta roads. The state airport operator is targeting the bridge to be ready by 2020.
The bridge will connect two roads around the airport, the North Perimeter Road and the South Perimeter Road.
AP2 president director Muhammad Awaluddin said on Thursday August 29, that the bridge would integrate vehicle traffic in the Soekarno-Hatta, Tangerang and Jakarta areas.
According to Awaluddin, traffic to and from Soekarno-Hatta is quite high, growing with the number of air passengers that reaches 60 to 70 million per year.
"Every month, taxis in Soekarno-Hatta serve up to 200,000 trips, and buses around 29,000 trips," he said
Awaluddin hoped that the existence of the bridge would also provide added value to areas near the airport and stimulate economic activities.
