TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of Public Policy and Government Relations of Gojek, Shinto Nugroho, said her company is committed to helping entrepreneurs of micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs) to grow their business.
The commitment was proven by a result of a study conducted by the Demographic Institute of Economic and Business Faculty of Indonesia University (LD FEB UI).
“The research states the contribution of Go-Jek to Indonesian economy reaches Rp55 trillion, with an assumption of 100-percent active MSMEs partners,” said Shinto after Go-Jek’s entrepreneurship event in Kedasi Coworking, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 27.
She explained that the research showed 93 percent of GoFood MSMEs partners saw a hike in transaction volume, and 85 percent of them reinvested their revenue in their business.
By the reinvestment, the entrepreneurs could step up their business. “This is in line with our vision, to support MSMEs to get higher level,” Shinto said.
As a technology enabler, the country's first deca-corn strived to beat off challenges faced by MSMEs by providing opportunities through the use of high-end technology.
In addition, Gojek provided training for its entrepreneur partners via the entrepreneurship program dubbed #GerakanOnlineNusantara. The app also established three super apps in a bid to help merchants, especially MSMEs, to manage their business.
