  • TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi delivered a speech at the Annual Session of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (MPR). During the occasion, Widodo appreciated the House of Representatives (DPR) for the synergy and collaboration with the government.

He appreciated the DPR's approval of the Law on Non-Tax State Revenue in 2018.

"The DPR has also approved the allocation of Village Funds of Rp70 trillion in 2019, which is very beneficial for improving the welfare of rural communities," Widodo said at the legislative complex in Jakarta, Friday, August 16.

He said that from August 2018 to July 2019, the DPR and the government successfully completed the discussion of 15 Draft Laws, including those in the fields of international cooperation agreements, health, accelerated mastery of science and technology, as well as bills on addressing the rapid dynamics of developments.

The president is scheduled to deliver three speeches this month. The first is during the 2019 MPR-RI annual session. He will also deliver his state address for the celebration of Indonesia's 74th Independence Day during the joint session of the DPR and DPD.

Jokowi will also deliver the 2020 State Budget Draft at the DPR's first plenary meeting for the 2019-2020 session year.
