Sandiaga Uno to Represent Prabowo in DPR-MPR Session on Friday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Jakarta deputy governor Sandiaga Uno will attend the annual session of the House of Representatives or DPR - the People’s Consultative Assembly or MPR on Friday, August 16.
Sandiaga said he will present at the state event on behalf of Gerindra Party chair Prabowo Subianto.
“Pak Prabowo has other agenda so he cannot attend it,” said Sandiaga after visiting Prabowo’s residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 15.
The annual session of DPR-MPR is annually established a day before the Indonesian Independence Day. Several ex-state elites are invited to listen directly to the President’s speech.
According to MPR speaker Zulkifli Hasan, he was informed that the third Indonesian President Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie and the sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will not attend the invitation.
“Pak SBY probably will not come and Pak Habibie too because of health issue,” said Zulkifli in the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, August 15.
Reportedly, the annual session on Friday will be divided into three agenda: MPR session, the regional legislative council (DPRD) session, and the last DPR session. President Joko Widodo or Jokowi will deliver state speech and speech on state financial note.
