Jokowi Opens MSMEs Exhibition, Karya Kreatif Indonesia

12 July 2019 12:23 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaPresident Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has opened the 2019 Karya Kreatif Indonesia in Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Friday, July 12. The exhibition promoted by Bank Indonesia or BI presented a total of 370 micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“By saying bismillah, I officially open KKI that is organized by BI today morning,” said Jokowi in JCC, Friday, July 12.

In the same location, BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said the event was held as a form of celebration and appreciation to the top MSMEs fostered by BI. This year’s exhibition, he added, is different than those in previous years.

“We have chosen 370 out of 898 MSMEs; the best of the best. They have top, selected products, high-quality products,” said Perry.

He outlined 120 of those enterprises are fabric and clothing MSMEs, 88 handicraft MSMEs, and 150 others are food and beverages MSMEs that are ready to be exported globally.

Perry said that the central bank provides assistance to 898 small scale enterprises across 46 BI regional offices. In 2019, 91 of them exported with a total value of Rp1.4 trillion.

Moreover, the enterprises also marketed their products via social media such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, as well as e-commerces.
