TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned forestry firm Perhutani CEO Denaldy M Mauna said that his side is currently designing a plan to build an eco theme park as a world-class tourism destination similar to Disneyland in West Java.
“[The park will be constructed] in West Java areas because of its large population and near Jakarta. The region has good transportation access as well,” said Denaldy in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, July 9.
According to him, the mega project had been planned since last year and will collaborate with a U.S.-based company. “Earlier this year, we have visited the firm which is experienced in developing a park like Disneyland. But, I cannot mention its name yet,” said Denaldy.
He estimated the park project will cost billions of US dollars. Yet, he stopped short to detail the exact number.
The construction plan, he went on, will involve several institutions and ministries for the park design. “We have sounded the plan to a few ministries such as SOE Ministry, Environment and Forestry Ministry (KLHK), and Tourism Ministry,” he said, underlining that the amusement park will use 100 percent renewable energy.
