President-Elect Jokowi: We Will Immediately Get Working

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said in a press conference on Sunday at the General Elections Commission (KPU) headquarters that he will immediately embark in the enormous task as president-elect after the official announcement is made.

“We will immediately go to work,” said Jokowi in the brief press conference.

He argues that Indonesia needs to work hard to improve its competitiveness compared to other countries. In regards to the composition of his future administration, Jokowi revealed that it will soon be discussed by members of supporting political party coalition.

“As what I often say, [our administration] is open to anyone that collectively wants to improve and better-evolve the country,” said the former governor of Jakarta.

The Jokowi – Ma’ruf Amin pair also expressed their appreciation toward everyone who completed their constitutional task in the exhausting 2019 General Elections and promised to work relentlessly to carry out the mandate of the people.

“Both of us will dedicate ourselves to fulfill the dreams of our nation’s founders. We will work as hard as we could to continue the foundation that we established together with Pak Jusuf Kalla in our first administration,” said Jokowi.

The official inauguration of the 2019-2024 administration is scheduled to take place on October 20^th.
