TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Member of Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) Agung Firman Sampurna said that the agency discovered a number of issues in state-carrier Garuda Indonesia’s financial audit report.
“Generally, we found strong allegations of financial engineering,” said Agung at BPK’s education and training center today.
Agung revealed that the problematic report was in Garuda’s recognition of accounts receivables.
“That is one of our findings. The main thing is that there are many. Either findings or recommendations,” he said.

However, he remained silent about the details of BPK’s findings and said that it would be announced soon by BPK’s state finance main auditor coordinator.
Previously, the Finance Ministry’s secretary general Hadiyanto alleges that Garuda Indonesia’s finance audit has yet entirely followed the existing accounting standards.
“But we can’t hastily decide the sanctions [to impose],” said Hadiyanto on Friday, June 14.
He says that the Finance Ministry is constantly coordinating with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and is letting them conduct an initial assessment.
