KPU Releases Audit Reports of Campaign Funds; PDIP Spends Rp345bn

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Election Commission (KPU) has released the audit result of campaign funds of the 2019 general elections and the presidential election. All reports consisted of 20 political parties, two pairs of the presidential and vice presidential candidate, and regional representative councils from 34 provinces.
Based on the report, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) spent Rp345 billion during the campaign period on February 20, 2018, until April 25, 2019.
PDIP mostly used the funds in the form of services amounted to Rp338 billion, followed by donation funds for legislative candidates at Rp4.6 billion and general meetings at Rp1.9 billion.

PDIP obtained the funds from various sources; Rp6 billion from the internal party, Rp338 billion from legislative candidates, and Rp9.6 million from other sources.
Meanwhile, Gerindra party had spent about Rp134 billion on campaign practices. The gap between the first and third rank party reached Rp211 billion.
The report of receipts and expenditures of the 2019 general election campaign funds had been audited by public accountant office to the KPU since April 27, 2019. The report was released on Sunday, June 9, through its official website www.kpu.go.id.
