TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Police’s Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) recorded a total of 47,128 Eid travelers departed from the Gambir Station in Central Jakarta on Sunday, June 2, 2109.
This condition was different from last year’s. “In 2018, there was no departure,” said the directorate’s education and law enforcement sub-directorate head Comr. Nasir on Monday, June 3, 2019.
According to Ditlantas’ data, the number of arrivals at the station reached 12,591 or doubling from last year’s.

Nasir explained a similar condition occurred at the Senen Market Station, from which 46,617 Eid travelers departed, while arrivals stood at 13,123.
Nasir went on to say there was no traveler departing from the Jatinegara Station in East Jakarta—a condition similar to that of last year—and arrivals tumbled from 3,794 in 2018 to 1,301 this year.
The data compilation is part of the Jakarta Police’s annual Eid operation dubbed the Ketupat Jaya 2019 Operation, which is held from May 29-June 10 and involved 6,226 joint personnel.
