TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jokowi`s campaign team (TKN) said that the government subsidy cards offered by incumbent presidential candidate Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is the physical form of what the Indonesian Constitution (Undang-Undang) has mandated.
TKN spokesman Arif Budimanta said the cards are how the government sides with its citizens in need, especially groups of people who still need financial protection added to the limited access to digital needs.

“It is to uphold the 1945 Constitution (UUD) Article 34 where the government is responsible to provide its citizens with health services and feasible public facilities,” said Arif on Saturday.
Jokowi mentioned about the special subsidy cards during the fifth and final presidential debate last week. The incumbent offered to introduce subsidy cards in the form of; pre-work subsidy card, affordable staple food card, and college KIP. The three he offered will join the existing subsidy cards for people’s welfare, health benefits, and academic “smart card”.
Arif said that the subsidy cards offered by Jokowi adhere to the official data on Indonesia’s population, “The cards are instruments to carry out what the Constitution has ordered,” said Arif.
