TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-run railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia or KAI has announced that it will provide free tickets on April 13, 2019, for certain routes to commemorate the 21st anniversary of State-owned Enterprises (SOE).
Spokesman of the company's operational region 2 Bandung, Joni Martinus, said four local trains will cater the free service tomorrow. They are Cibatuan Train (Purwakarta-Cibatu), all economy trains operating in Bandung from Kiaracondong until Padalarang, Siliwangi Train (Cianjur-Sukabumi), and Cilamaya/Cepat Purwakarta Train (Purwakarta-Tanjung Priok).
The quota of the free ticket will depend on the maximum capacity of each train. Would-be passengers can grab the ticket in the departing station only with a maximum one ticket per person, except for children under 10 years old and elderly, Joni added.
Meanwhile, for those people who have booked seats for departure date on April 13 could get a refund in the destination station. The refund request is limited to three days.
In a written statement on Thursday, April 11, KAI president director Edi Sukmoro said the free service is part of the company's contribution in realizing its mission that SOEs presents for the country. "Hopefully, the public could make the use of the promotion as well as possible," he said.
