TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Incumbent Presidential Candidate Joko "Jokowi" Widodo called for people to file a report to the Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) if the alleged rumors of electoral fraud turns out to be true.
"People can report it to the Bawaslu if the information is valid and is a form of violation," said Jokowi in Depok, West Java on Thursday, April 11, 2019.
A recent viral video showed someone's finding of punctured voting ballots from the foreign elections supervisory committee (Panwaslu) in Kuala Lumpur. Member of the Bawaslu Fritz Edward Siregar, had also urged the general elections committee (KPU) to temporarily stop the electoral process where the fraud took place.
Reported earlier, the KPU is currently in contact with the working group (Pokja) of the Overseas Elections Committee (Panitia Pemilu Luar Negeri - PPLN) for any development on the issue.
"The Pokja PPLN is confirming it as we speak, whether the news is true or not, where it took place, and what actually happened," said KPU Commissioner Ilham Saputra on Thursday, April 11, 2019.
Ilham stated that the KPU is trying to find out the location where the unconfirmed electoral fraud happened. "The video does not show the perpetrators," Ilham said. He also added that the KPU is still unaware of whether the incident had already been reported by the PPLN to the Malaysian elections supervisory agency or not.
