TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Four police members are reportedly injured in last night’s raid after terrorist ‘SHS’ resisted arrest by assaulting police with a sharp weapon after pretending to comply with police orders in Batujajar, West Bandung.
“The four police personnel are currently treated at a hospital in Bandung,” said Indonesian National Police (Polri) spokesman Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo at the Polri headquarters in South Jakarta on Thursday.
The four officers from Cimahi Police’s intelligence squad sustained multiple injuries after two men were stabbed in their stomach, while the other two policemen sustained injuries to their thigh.
According to Dedi Prasetyo, radicalized suspect SHS had kept a weapon as a means to fight back in case he is caught by authorities, which unfortunately happened. The terrorist had initially pretended to comply with police orders during the arrest but lunged an attack once policemen approached SHS to be handcuffed.
“We were forced to neutralize the terrorist suspect,” said Dedi.
