Amien Rais Rejects Vote Recapitulation at Satan-infested Hotel

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Mandate Party (PAN) founder Amien Rais highly urges this year’s vote recapitulations to not be held at the Borobudur Hotel. He believes the hotel is infested with a mysterious aura prone to create electoral frauds.
“The upcoming election votes should not be recapitulated at Borobudur Hotel. The hotel houses many genies and genderuwo (a form of evil spirit according to Indonesian folklore),” said Amien Rais after attending a seminar on fair general elections at the House of Representative headquarters today, March 26.
He expresses his bewilderment on why the said location is often picked as the location to recapitulate votes. Amien suggests that it be moved to the headquarters of the General Elections Commission (KPU) or the House of Representatives (DPR).

“It’s better to hold it at the KPU or DPR, anywhere but at Borobudur Hotel. I know well that there are many hackers and its type [at the hotel]. For us who are aware of it, never pick Borobudur Hotel,” said Amien Rais.
Meanwhile, KPU Commissioner Viryan Azis seemed confused with Amien Rais’ call, saying that the voting tabulations are always held at KPU headquarters since 2014. “I don’t know what Amien meant. But the national general election recapitulation is done at the KPU HQ,” said Viryan.
Based on Tempo’s research, the 2004 and 2009 votes recapitulation were done at Borobudur Hotel before it was moved to the KPU headquarters in 2014.
