TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Lion Mentari Airlines or Lion Air is reportedly planning an initial public offering to list its shares at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
Although the airline has not made an official statement about the reports, IDX's director of corporate assessment IGD Nyoman Yetna Setia said that a team from Lion Air attended the IPO Master Class yang held by the Exchange.
The activity, he said, caters to prospective issuers planning to go public.
"We held the IPO Master Class in the second semester last year," Nyoman to reporters on Thursday, March 21.
However, Nyoman said that the IDX has not received any official documents from Lion Air about the supposed IPO plan.
Some time ago, a partner at Assurance Services Ernst & Young (EY) Indonesia, Jongki Widjaja, had said that Lion Air was one of the companies that took the IDX's IPO course last year. "If they join this program, it means they are ready to go public," he said.
Other companies that took part in the program included Columbia Asia, Propan, Bank DKI, and Humpuss Kimia.
