TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The capital’s General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu Jakarta) announced it would summon the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) for clarifications on alleged campaign violation during Islamist gathering Munajat 212 held at Monas.
“[They] will be asked for explanations on their involvement as a Munajat 212 committee,” said Bawaslu DKI Jakarta commissioner Fuadi on Monday.
However, Fuadi cannot yet confirm the exact date for the summons. He said FPI Jakarta would be summoned as they were suspected of being part of the organizers of the Munajat 212 held on Friday, February 22.
“This is the same as the MUI DKI (Jakarta’s Indonesian Ulema Council),” said Fuadi.
Bawaslu Jakarta was scheduled to quiz today MUI DKI, Fadli Zon and Neno Warisman for alleged campaign violation during the Munajat 212, yet based on Tempo’s observation only MUI DKI met the summons.

MUI DKI spokesman Faiz Rafdi dismissed allegations that his organization was part of the event organizers, thus MUI DKI could not be held accountable for any activity during the event.
“We underline the fact that we did not invite any political figure from either side of the presidential campaign teams,” said Faiz.
The alleged electoral campaign violation referred to the political gesture made by Gerindra Party's deputy chair Fadli Zon and the speech of National Mandate Party (PAN) chairman Zulkifli Hasan. Both were suspected of having shown political campaign tendencies during the Munajat 212.
