Ethiopian Airlines Crash; Garuda Indonesia Inspects Aircrafts

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State airliner Garuda Indonesia carried out an additional inspection of its Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft following the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash on Sunday, March 10. The incident involved a Boeing 737 Max plane.
“We continuously run Extra Inspection Procedure on several systems that may possibly cause an accident,” said Garuda Indonesia president director I Gusti Ngurah Askhara Danadiputra alias Ari Askhara in a statement Sunday.

The inspection of the airspeed and altitude system, flight control system, and stall management system revealed no fault found or they were in good condition. “We have instantly coordinated the matter with Transportation Ministry’s Airworthiness and Aircraft Operation Directorate (DKUPPU) for further prevention efforts,” Ashkara said.
An Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 with a flight number ET 302 crashed on the way from Addis Ababa to Nairobi, Kenya Sunday at 08:44 local times or 12:44 Western Indonesian Time. A total of 149 passengers and eight crew members aboard allegedly died in the incident. One of the passengers was an Indonesian citizen.
Before Ethiopian Airlines, Lion Air Boeing 737 Max 8, boarding 188 passengers and cabin crew, with a flight number JT 610 plummeted to the waters of Karawang on October 29, 2018, on its way from Tangerang to Bangka Belitung.
