KPK Overthrow Fadli Zon's Idea to Erase Wealth Report or LHKPN

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) opposed the baseless idea proposed by House of Representatives deputy speaker Fadli Zon upon erasing wealth reporting duties (LHKPN).
On the contrary, KPK would show support if the idea was to integrate the LHKPN to the annual tax return form (SPT). “This would base the SPT data to that of the LHKPN, that was what we expected,” said KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata today, March 8, at his office in South Jakarta.
Alexander explained that the SPT filing is confidential and cannot be accessed by anyone without the proper authority. However, accessing the LHKPN can be reached through an attorney’s letter.
Previously reported, Fadli Zon suggested to completely drop the concept of an LHKPN and argued that the list of wealth is listed in the SPT.
“If the taxes are correctly reported, the LHKPN should just be dropped, no need to ask again,” said Fadli Zon.
