March 6, 2019 | 07:29 pm

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Yogyakarta Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) recorded that ten foreign citizens in the region were listed in the permanent voters list (DPT) for the 2019 election. The foreigners hail from the United States, Switzerland, Malaysia, Spain, Japan, and Netherland.

Out of 10 foreigners, eight lived in Bantul Regency, while the two others reside in Sleman and Yogyakarta City.

"Most of them are European living in three regencies of Yogyakarta," said Bawaslu Yogyakarta official, Amir Nashiruddin, Wednesday, March 6, 2019.

Amir explained that the finding was made following the report issued by Central Bawaslu that three foreign citizens in the region have been listed in the DPT.

Therefore, Amir added, Bawaslu would verify the data of voters in the regencies and cities. "We will continuously trace the data for the next three days on potential foreigners listed in DPT," Amir said.

Based on the temporary observation, there were 32 foreigners in Sleman and 9 in Gunungkidul whose names were listed in the permanent voter list of the 2019 election.
