TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The head of Non-Bank Financial Industry Supervisor (IKNB) 2B OJK, Bambang W. Budiman, said that a total of six multifinance companies were proposing finance business license to OJK.
“There are five up to six multifinance firms. One of them is a company, and others are acquisitions. Most of them are foreign corporates that join with locals. The regulation allows that,” said Bambang as quoted from Bisnis.com, Monday, January 28.
According to Bambang, Indonesia is an attractive market for investors due to its great achievement of return on asset (ROA) and return on equity.
The Indonesian Financing Company Association (APPI) head Suwandi Wiratno predicted that the acquisition will be rampant in the finance industry this year.
He opined that such an act would be one of the strategies for an industry that hardly facing the equity limit valued Rp100 billion.
“If it does not reach Rp100 billion up to year’s end, there are many ways, such as acquire other companies, or seek other investors,” he said.
