TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned air carrier Garuda Indonesia dropped its ticket prices serving a number of routes. This decision was made after a meeting with the Indonesian National Air Carriers Association (INACA) following the recent flight ticket hike.
Garuda Indonesia President Director Ari Askhara explained that the price for its Aceh-Jakarta flight will only cost Rp1.6 million from Rp3.2 million. Meanwhile, Garuda’s Jakarta-Surabaya flight ticket is priced at Rp1.3 million from its previous Rp1.6 million.
According to Ari, who’s also the chairman of INACA, low-cost carriers will also see drops in ticket fares such as the Jakarta – Surabaya route (Rp500,000) and the Jakarta – Yogyakarta flight (Rp300,000 – Rp400,000).
However, other flight routes such as the Garuda Indonesia Jakarta-Denpasar flight will remain the same since it operates during ‘prime time’ and is still in high-demand.
