TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the government’s business licensing system—dubbed the Online Single Submission—could undermine corruption in the country.
“This is revolution, but we are not fully aware of its impact,” he said at the ministry building in Jakarta on Monday, January 14, 2019.

Luhut said the system would not require a direct meeting of related parties, thus lowering corruption potentials in its process. “So there will be no more handshake licensing.”
He added the OSS was speedier than the previous system as it would only take a week to issue a permit, while tax holidays could be issued in two weeks if all requirements were complete.

As of January 2, 2019, the government relocated its Electronically Integrated Business Licensing (PBTSE) system, otherwise known as the Online Single Submission (OSS) from the Coordinating Economic Ministry to the Coordinating Investment Board (BKPM). Coordinating Economic Ministry secretary Susiwijono said the rearrangement would be carried out in stages.
This OSS system will not undergo a data transfer since the OSS is Cloud-based certified under ISO 27001-2013.
