Barata Indonesia Export Power Plant Components to Brazil

3 January 2019 10:48 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Manufacturing company Barata Indonesia starts 2019 with exporting power plant components. The company is shipping condensers and LP outer casings produced it its factory in Cilegon, Banten to Brazil.

"We hope the export will continue all year long," president director Oksarlidady Arifin said in a release on Thursday, January 3.

Oksarlidady said the company's power plant components will be used by Brazil's GNA Novo Tempo Project, which has a power-generating capacity of 1,300 MW.

He said that the export, the first for his company, is a "positive step", especially since Barata Indonesia plans to boost export performances this year—in particular for power plant components.

"The export value target is US$17 million," he said.

Barata also exports train components to a number of countries. This year, Barata is targeting a foundry export value of US$23 million.

Before the export to Brazil, Barata has shipped blade rings and combustion chambers to Kaohsiung, Taiwan in mid-October 2018.
