TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Commander of the Democrat Party Joint Task Force (Kogasma) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono or AHY, plans to depart to Pekabnaru, Riau Province on Sunday, December 16, 2018 to monitor the development of the Democrat Party attribute vandalism.
"I want to make sure it was an incident and don't let it shrink our spirit, but must be seen as a momentum to unite," AHY said in Cipulir on December 15, 2018.
On the occasion, Agus said that he cannot make much comment on the incident. However, Agus said that democrat party cadres in Pekanbaru have collected evidence related to the incident.
Agus added that the Democrat Party has urged the Regional Election Committee, the Election Supervisory Body, and the Riau Regional Police to immediately handle the case. He expected the case can be resolved completely.
"So it would not raise questions, don't let this be a new normal in our country, whenever [there is party attribute] it gets vandalized, removed, or other," AHY said.
A number of Democrat Party attributes installed on the streets of Pekanbaru city were taken down and destroyed on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
