TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta administration will issue a ticket integration card for mass rapid transit (MRT), light rail transit (LRT) and Transjakarta bus. People will be able to use the same card to ride on the three transportations.
The head of Jakarta economic bureau Sri Haryati stated that the card uses a payment system called electronic fare collection (EFC), “since we carry the integration of route, physical, and payment system,” she said in Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, December 13.
The Jakarta administration decided to form a joint venture of three regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) that manage the three transportations. The three are Jakarta MRT, Jakarta LRT, and Transjakarta.
According to Sri, the regional administration has been formulating governor’s regulation on EFC implementation, which regulates the method of payment and the implementation.
To date, the Jakarta administration has yet to set a tariff for the MRT that is planned to operate in March 2019. PT MRT Jakarta has proposed a tariff of Rp8,500 to Rp15,000 according to the survey that has been conducted.
