Soekarno-Hatta Airport Opens 20 Hajj Immigration Counters

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Saudi Arabia government and state-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II (AP II) opened 20 special immigration counters for hajj pilgrims in Terminal 2F of Soekarno-Hatta airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang.
The immigration counter of Saudi Arabia at the airport was first operated for hajj season this year. “As many as 20 immigration counters in Terminal 2 departure of the airport are aimed to quicken the visa service,” said Soekarno-Hatta airport’s Senior Manager Branch Communication and Legal, Erwin Revianto, on Tuesday, July 17.

The facility, Erwin said, was an innovative service for hajj pilgrims in handling immigration documents of Saudi Arabia at the departure country; not destination country.
However, the service was not established in all embarkation departure except those chosen by the Religious Affairs Ministry. “Including embarkation in Soekarno-Hatta international airport,” Erwin added.
The first group of hajj pilgrims had departed today, July 17, from Soekarno-Hatta airport. The group consisted of 393 pilgrims boarded on Garuda Indonesia GA 7261 at 09:20 local times.
