BNN Raids Sense Karaoke Over Drug Abuse

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has conducted the search operation twice in a day to thoroughly find more evidence of drugs in a night entertainment spot Sense Restaurant and Karaoke, Ancol, North Jakarta.


A number of BNN officers were re-assigned to search the place in Mangga Dua Square and found more kind of drugs inside. “We looked for another evidence,” said BNN’s Public Relations Head Sulistiandriatmoko in a written statement, Thursday, April 12.

The search was conducted on Wednesday, April 11 at 15:00 local times until early Thursday, April 12 at 02:00. At the time, BNN nabbed several visitors and Sense’s management employee who allegedly involved in drugs trafficking and abuse. “We arrested 36 persons,” Sulis noted.


BNN seized illegal drugs such as shabu, ecstasy, marijuana, and ketamine packed in small plastic, ready to distribute. “We haven’t count the total number yet,” Sulis added.


Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asserted that he will shut down Sense Restaurant and Karaoke based on Gubernatorial Decree No. 18/2018. “If the evidence completes, we will revoke the permit right away,” said the governor at MRT Depot, Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta.
