TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 90`s Festival is held for the third time at Jakarta`s Gambir Expo on Saturday, November 25, featuring a number of bands and musicians who were popular in the 90s including Sixpence None The Richer.
Audiences are invited to enjoy songs performed by local musicians, such as Dewa 19 featuring Ari Lasso, KLa Project, The Groove, Bragi, P-Project, Shaden, and Potret on four main stages. The American alternative rock band Sixpence None The Richer will also enliven the show.
During a press conference held yesterday, Merry Kasiman from Potret revealed that they will perform 12-13 songs that were once hit the local charts.
Members of The Groove said they are excited to take audiences on a time machine through songs they produced two decades ago. “We want to remember the time when The Groove performed at cafes in 1997,” Rejos said.
Reza from The Groove views that the 90s music is distinctive compared to others in different eras. “Every generation thinks that their era is the golden era,” Reza said, emphasizing that his opinion is not entirely objective. “I think the peak of the music industry was in the 90s. At that time, musicians had explored analog equipment until they went digital.”
In addition to music, The 90’s Festival also displays antiquities and classic toys and games, such as Tamiya and arcade games.
“There will be Tazos, Lupus, Gundam communities, games from the 90s, and the decoration of the stage will have 90's nuances,” Accellera Entertainment promoter Dea Marella said.
