TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta Metro Police Chief of Public Relations Sr. Comsr. Ade Ary Syam Indradi said the authority would deploy 2,025 personnel to secure the Ed Sheeran concert in Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), North Jakarta, tonight.

"The traffic engineering will be done situationally, in collaboration with the stakeholders," said Ade Ary in a written statement on Saturday, March 2.

Ade called on the concertgoers to take public transportation to the venue in JIS. The public is asked to maintain security, safety, and order in the traffic.

On Friday, Jakarta Metro Police Chief of Traffic Department Sr. Comsr. Latif Usman said they prepared 300 personnel to regulate traffic at JIS or directions leading to JIS such as Cikunir and Cawang in East Jakarta, and Sudirman, Central Jakarta.

Several parking areas were prepared for those who use private vehicles.

"We have prepared parking for motorbikes entering the stadium, as for the car park, it will be in Kemayoran and Ancol. "The organizer has coordinated [with the authorities] for the use of the bridge from Ancol to JIS bridge," said Latif Usman to the reporters at Jakarta Metro Police on Friday, March 1.

As the police expected the audience would reach 50,000 people, Latif said that there would be shuttle buses to transport the audience from Kemayoran to JIS. However, despite the shuttle bus facility, Ed Sheeran's fans are expected to use public transportation to reduce traffic jams.

“I remind the concertgoers that they will see queues. [And] to anticipate queues, it is better to use public transportation," he remarked.
