IT Expert Hermansyah Attackers Arrested After Hiding in Bandung

The suspects that attacked IT expert Hermansyah, They are Edwin Hitipeuw (37) and Lauren Paliyama (31). Their profession are debt collectors.

TEMPO.CO, Depok - Deputy Police Chief, Comm. Faizal Ramadhani, said that the two assailants responsible for the vicious knife attack against IT Expert Hermansyah works as debt collectors. Their identities are Edwin Hitipeuw (37) and Lauren Paliyama (31).


According to Faizal, the two suspects were arrested by the Depok Police Team Jaguar at Sawangan, Depok, who were originally heading back to Edwin’s house from Bandung.

Immediately after the attack took place, according to police investigation, Edwin and several of his associates scattered to Bandung in an attempt to lose track with authorities, which is where they hid their vehicle.


The two suspects returned to Depok with a different car. Police are currently hunting down Edwin’s associates believed to be involved in the bloody attack against Hermansyah.


“The suspects will be charged under Criminal Code Article 170 with a five year sentence or more,” said Faizal.

The attack against Hermansyah happened on Sunday, July 9.


The IT expert known for his appearance in a television show was driving home to Depok with his wife at Jagorawi toll-road. The suspect’s car made contact with Hermansyah’s car that sparked a road rage between both parties, which unfortunately ended with Hermansyah being a victim of a vicious knife attack.
