TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The knife attack against IT expert Hermansyah has affected Firza Husein, a suspect of a pornographic WhatsApp chat case. Firza finally canceled his plan to present a witness in favor of her in the case.
“We have canceled [to present] all [witnesses]. We won’t present any witnesses at the investigation level,” Firza’s lawyer Azis Yanuar said at the Jakarta Police on Tuesday, July 11, 2017.
According to Azis, before the knife attack against Hermansyah, his team was planning to present two or three witnesses in favor of Firza. One of the witnesses was Hermansyah. The IT expert served as an expert witness for Islamic Front Defender Front (FPI) leader Rizieq Syihab, who is currently entangled in the same case.
Witnesses in favor of Firza Husein will be determined by police. Azis accompanied his client to attend a questioning. In addition to completing the dossier, Firza also confirmed witnesses to be presented by police.
Azis said that Firza’s questioning was to complete the case file which was previously handed over to the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office. However, the prosecutor’s office viewed that the case file was not complete yet. According to Azis, the questioning could be the last.
Earlier, Hermansyah revealed that the WhatsApp conversation allegedly occurred between Firza Husein and Rizieq Syihab could be manipulated. Hermansyah was attacked by unknown people at Jagorawi Toll Road in East Jakarta on Sunday, July 9, 2017. Hermansyah was taken to Hermina Hospital in Depok before he was transferred to the Army Hospital in Jakarta.
