TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A man has been arrested over a gas station robbery on Jalan Daan Mogot, says Jakarta Metro Police chief Insp. Gen. M. Iriawan. “Questioning is ongoing,” Iriawan said yesterday. However, he did not specify the identity of the perpetrator. “We will release it later.”

The gas station robbery took place on June 9. Victim Davidson Tantono, 30, died after being shot in the head. The two robbers took the victim’s bag containing Rp350 million.

Police alleged that the robbers had been keeping an eye on Davidson from a bank. “We were informed that there was a scout in the bank. It means that the scout was a part of the group,” Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono.

Argo said that the victim was also allegedly scouted outside the bank. “So, the perpetrator observed who came alone to take a huge sum of money. There were more than one individual in the process,” he said.

Meanwhile, other offenders are tasked with monitoring and executing the plan.

West Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Rockye Langie said that the police have identified the perpetrators. “We are on the move; I hope that the perpetrators can be captured in the near future,” he said.
