Number of Accidents During Eid Holiday This Year Rises

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of traffic accident during this year’s Eid holiday season is higher than that of last year.
The data was revealed in the release of the Head of Sub-directorate of Education and Law Enforcement of the Traffic Directorate of the Jakarta Police Adj. Comr. Sr. Budiyanto.
From the Ramadniya operation conducted between 30 June until 9 July 2016, the Traffic Directorate of the Jakarta Police recorded an increase in the number of traffic accident compared to the same period last year, from 55 accidents last year into 88 accidents this year.
In the meantime, the number of casualties has also increased from 5 deaths last year into 10 deaths this year, while the number of victims with severe injuries increased from 24 people last year into 37 people this year, and the number of victims with minor injuries has increased from 48 people into 62 people this year.
Meanwhile, financial loses has also increased this year, from Rp91.45 million last year into Rp166.4 millions this year.
