TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President of Corporate Communication of Angkasa Pura II (AP II), Cin Asmoro, assessed that the implementation of the Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow at the 20 airports managed by the company went smoothly and well. According to Cin, airport operations, flight operations, and passenger services also ran relatively smoothly.
In addition, Cin mentioned that the indicators of the success of the Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow at AP II could be seen from the on-time performance of flights, flight route utilization, and the addition of flights or extra flights during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow totaling 1,412 flights.
Based on the on-time performance of flights, AP II recorded a cumulative average of 95 percent. Meanwhile, for flight route utilization at AP II airports, the number reached 98 percent.
"It means that almost all available flight routes were operated to serve the air travel needs of the public," Cin said in his statement on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
He stated that the presence of Eid al-Fitr transportation monitoring posts spread across all AP II airports also successfully supported the implementation of this year's Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow. "We also express our gratitude to the airplane passengers who have supported AP II airports in the implementation of the 2024 homecoming flow," Cin said.
AP II noted that during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming period from April 3 to April 9, 2024, the cumulative number of airplane passengers at its 20 airports reached 1.86 million people. This figure increased by 8 percent compared to passenger movements during the 2023 homecoming flow, which was only 1.72 million people.
Not only that, AP II also recorded an 8 percent increase in airplane movements during this year's Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow. Cin mentioned that during the implementation of the 2024 homecoming flow, the number of airplane movements reached 13,795 flights.
He revealed that the highest air traffic recorded by AP II occurred on April 6, 2024. A total of 313,164 people were recorded during that period, with aircraft movements reaching 2,186 flights.
