TEMPO.CO, Samarinda - Kutai Timur resort police on Saturday (2/7) foiled the attempted smuggling of shabu-shabu (meth) weighing 14 kilogram that was planned to be circulated in Samarinda, the capital of East Kalimantan.

Head of Public Relations Division of East Kalimantan police, Comr. Sr. Fajar Setiawan confirmed the case.

"It is true. When we conducted an operation, we found a black Innova car (that brought meth). I cannot reveal the plate number of the car yet. After we checked it, we found 14 kilograms of meth. It turned out that it was going to be brought to Samarinda," Fajar said in Samarinda on Saturday (2/7).

He added for during the investigation, the police would not disclose the identity of the man who brought the meth. The police are also still detaining the driver who drove the car, he added.

"We’ve detained the people in this case,” Fajar added.

Fajar went on to say the Kutai Timur police would also work with East Kalimantan police to investigate this case, which is considered a major case.
